Graves’ disease patients have several treatment choices. On this page we will present these treatment options in alphabetical order.  The wise patient will study all of the treatment choices, weighing the pro’s and con’s of each, then decide which one is right for them as an individual. Antithyroid Drugs (ATDs)

Antithyroid drugs (ATDs) are used to lower thyroid hormone and autoantibodies which cause Graves’ disease. ATDs are the first choice of treatment in Europe and Japan. ATDs are also used as the first line treatment for pediatric patients. See our Antithyroid Drugs page for details.
